History reports of the NPS
Sandy Hook and Fort Hancock have already inspired a great deal of scholarly work by National Park Service historians. These reports tend to be large; to upload them, we have divided them into parts. Here you will also find more recent reports concerning transportation and previous efforts to make Fort Hancock ready for adaptive reuse. Unless otherwise stated, reports are authored by someone who works for the National Park Service, either as an employee or contractor. Some buildings, including the Life-Saving Station at Spermaceti Cove, are NOT a part of this lease effort but can add to a fuller understanding of the park.
